“Is My House Going to Sink?” Tim Ranf (Pioneer) and Bill Snoddy (Montana DEQ) will answer this question. Miles of former coal mine tunnels lie beneath the town of Red Lodge, MT at 8 different levels from 120-800 feet below ground surface, a result of extensive mining 100 years ago. The presentation describes Pioneer’s work to determine the condition of the tunnels and overlying bedrock and whether or not collapse of the mine tunnels could result in any appreciable ground surface settlement. When: NAAMLP conference, Sept 28-30, 2015, La Fonda Hotel, Santa Fe, New Mexico (http://www.naamlp2015.com/)
